As the founder of both Empathy Nursing Agency and Empathy Algorithm, Keziah Mwangi has built a legacy of exceptional care and technological advancement in the senior and elder care industry. She began her career in aeronautical engineering — then discovered a genuine calling in caring for older adults, and set out to change the field using science and technology rather than sentiment alone.

From engineering to the bedside

Engineers are trained to ask an uncomfortable question: how do you know? Keziah brought that question to home care, and found the industry had no good answer. Good care was described in adjectives — warm, compassionate, reliable — but rarely defined, rarely measured, and almost never reproduced on purpose.

Her search to define, quantify and replicate good care led to more than a decade of hands-on work in the home care industry, alongside agencies, caregivers and the families who depend on both. She learned the business the only way it can genuinely be learned: visit by visit, household by household, one difficult afternoon at a time.

Building the Empathy Algorithm

That experience produced Empathy Algorithm — a platform built to solve the daily realities of care delivery rather than the theory of it. Scheduling that reflects how families actually live. Documentation caregivers will genuinely complete. Visibility that keeps relatives meaningfully involved instead of politely informed. It is the answer to the question that started it all: families deserve to see care, not merely trust it.

Empathy Nursing Agency is that conviction made physical — concierge private duty care, small hand-selected caregiver teams, and plans of care written and supervised by registered nurses. Keziah still personally reads every Client Intake Form that comes through the door, because a care plan built without knowing the person is not a care plan.

As a woman building a company in the home health space, Keziah is committed to women’s empowerment and to a culture that supports and elevates the people doing this work. She cares particularly about caregiver support and about dignifying caregiving as a craft — a skilled profession with standards, progression and respect, rather than a job people fall into.

That conviction shapes how the agency hires and develops its team. It is why caregivers are matched to consistent clients rather than a rotating schedule, why continuing education is funded, and why the careers page reads the way it does.
