How Pricing Works
Priced by the hour. Designed around the person.
Empathy is a private-pay concierge agency — you pay directly for care, billed hourly, at a rate confirmed in writing before the first visit. What you're paying for is the model itself: a hand-selected team of 2–3 Maryland-certified caregivers (not an open roster), a registered nurse writing and supervising the care plan, our Director of Operations — a nurse with over a decade of care delivery experience — overseeing every day, and your family watching it all in real time. Your schedule isn't sold in packages. Our team structures personalized timeslots around your loved one's actual needs — designed to maximize both the caregiver's presence where it matters most and the benefits available to you.
What Shapes Your Quote
Four honest factors — and nothing hidden
Level of care — companionship and lifestyle support, hands-on personal care, or skilled clinical needs. · Schedule — personalized timeslots, overnight, or around-the-clock coverage. · Consistency of team — always included; never an upcharge. · Clinical supervision — RN care planning, 90-day reviews, and safety checks; always included. What will never appear on your invoice: registration fees, assessment fees, holiday “surge” surprises you weren't told about, or charges for the claims work we do with your insurance carrier. If it isn't in your written quote, it doesn't exist.
The Ltc Bridge
Private pay doesn't always mean paying alone
If your loved one holds a long-term care insurance policy, your private-pay investment is very likely reimbursable. We prepare, file, and track every claim with carriers like John Hancock, Genworth, CNA, and the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP) — and over 98% of our clients' claims are successfully reimbursed. Many of our families effectively recover most of their monthly care costs.
Why it’s worth it
The math most families do after the first month
Compare what the alternative actually costs: assisted living entry fees and monthly rates for shared attention; the daughter's career interrupted; the readmission that follows an unwatched recovery; the fall no one caught early. Concierge care priced honestly, hours designed precisely, and insurance reimbursement recovered — that's not the expensive option. It's the controlled one. Frequently asked questions
Why don't you publish rates online?
Because honest pricing requires knowing the need. A published number would either overquote most families or underquote the complex cases — and we won't do either. Your written quote is exact, free, and carries no obligation.
Are there contracts or minimum commitments?
No long-term contracts. Care plans scale up or down anytime, with the same team.
What forms of payment do you accept?
ACH, check, and other standard methods — confirmed with your quote and set up simply.
Is the RN assessment really free?
Yes — the assessment, the Client Intake Form review, and your written quote are all free and obligation-free.
Can insurance offset the cost?
If a long-term care policy exists, very likely — over 98% of the claims we file are successfully reimbursed, and we handle the entire process.
